Job Title: Test Engineer II
 
Location: Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Ohio
 
Job Description: Test Engineer II - The Test Engineer will have the knowledge, skills and abilities to design, develop, analyze, operate, and document Structural, Electrical, Sonic-fatigue, Thermal, and/or Dynamic systems. The areas of expertise may include but are not limited to thermodynamics, mechanics, control systems, data acquisition systems, lasers and optics, signal processing, sensors, vibration, materials, industrial safety and power, fluid mechanics, and dynamic systems. The test engineer will have experience in some of the following areas:
  1. Design, develop, and analyze specialized load fixtures and fittings association with acoustic, vibration, and shock testing systems.
  2. Design, develop and analyze complex electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical systems associated with the control of mechanical loading and heat control systems.
  3. Specify, modify, and develop complex electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical systems associated with the instrumentation of structures for data acquisition.
  4. Specify, modify, and develop complex electrical power distribution, regulation and control systems associated with elevated temperature testing and industrial equipment operation.
  5. Plan, design, and test in compliance with the Air Force ground and system safety guidelines and policies.
  6. Perform research and conduct scientific and engineering investigations using experimental and mathematical techniques.
The test engineer will document technical work using standard PC compatible software including Microsoft Office® products, AutoCad, and Inventor.
 
Required Qualifications/Skills: Position requires at least a BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Required experience and/or knowledge via specific classes may include mechanical design, testing, control theory, acoustics, vibration or high cycle fatigue testing. Experience and/or knowledge in high frequency, high thermal, environmental, and instrumentation are desired.
